Details of one author, translator, editor or dedicatee

Lycinius, C. (fl. 1490s); presumably the same person who wrote a poem addressed to another Venetian patrician, Federicus Cornarius (Federico di Francesco Corner), in Venice, Biblioteca Marciana, MS. lat. XIV 244 (4681), fol. 191r (Iter Italicum, VI.263b). The verses in Lucretius are addressed `ex foelicissima tua Murani Academia’, so there should have been some formal or informal academic institution on the island next to Venice in the hand of this Priuli, who was podestà of Rovereto in 1487. If `Lycinius’ is not a classicizing affectation, it may relate to the citizen (not patrician) family Licini, who left their name in the Corte Licini alla Fava in Venice (ex informatione M. Davies). ♦ Categorisation: Gender: Unknown. Century: unknown century.
