Tuberinus, Johannes Matthias (fl. 1468–after 1488); real surname was Tabarino, later latinized Tiberinus; from Chiari, near Brescia, Lombardy (he signs his works `Iohannes Mathias de Claris or Clarensis’); studied medicine at Universities of Pavia and Padua, graduating after 1468; physician and humanist; wrote epigram for Ulrich von Frundsberg, Bishop of Trento (1488-93); buried in Trento, cloister of the convent of Sant’Agostino (ex informatione Gaia Bolpagni); VL VIII 1260-75. ♦ Categorisation: Gender: Unknown.
