Allan, Thomas Robinson (c.1800-1884); 'News and Comment', Book Collector, 16 (1967), 211-15; possibly to be identified with Thomas Robinson Allan, matric. Trinity College, Cambridge, 1816, BA 1822, called to the Bar, Middle Temple, 1829, for whom see Venn pt 2, I 32; stamp 'Allan Library', from the collection he formed and donated to the City Road Methodist Library, London in 1884; the books were later (1920) purchased by The London Library; the article in ODNB confuses Allan with his father of the same name (ex informatione John Goldfinch). ♦ Categorisation: Type: Person.
