of Florence; banker (Rothschilds until 1872), bibliophile, and art collector; purchased Galletti's library en bloc in 1879; book-plate of c.1860: monogram `HL' doubled, beneath a coronet, and no. `4009'; see Bragaglia III, no. 2036; two volumes of a catalogue of Landau's library were produced in 1885-90, but this catalogue is not complete.
