St Amand, James (1687-1754); of Lincoln College, Oxford; bequeathed his books to the Bodleian; see Macray 252-4; DNB; Philip 93-4; a manuscript catalogue, drawn up in London by Alexander Cruden in 1754, is now kept in the Library archives (SC 10785, Library Records c. 1212), along with a second manuscript catalogue, apparently a copy of the first, drawn up in Oxford in May 1755, and acquired by the Bodleian in 1897 (Library Records c. 1213); see SC III p. 157. ♦ Categorisation: Type: Person.
