Blount, Charles (1563-1606); Earl of Devonshire, 8th Lord Mountjoy; see DNB; Cyril Falls, Mountjoy: Elizabethan General (London, 1955), esp. 119-20, with reference to his books, which are now in the Bodleian; apparently inscriptions in his two incunabula (the other being in Jesus College, Oxford, Martinus Magistri, Quaestiones morales. Paris: [Johannes Higman, for or with] Wolfgang Hopyl, 1 Dec. 1489 [BMC VIII 132 = Rhodes 1137]; Jesus G.8.7) are written in same way and were probably acquired at much the same time (Rhodes).
