Binding: Contemporary (German, from Dülmen) blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, with metal clasps, and parchment endleaves. On both covers double fillets form an double frame. On the upper cover within the inner frame is a stamp of two sitting birds addorsed (Goldschmidt II, pl. CV no. 165), a circular rose stamp, a shield-shaped stamp containing two hands, two feet, a heart pierced by a spear, and three nails (Goldschmidt I 249), stamps of the Four Evangelists, a small rectangular tendril stamp, and two circular stamps, one with ‘IHS', the other ‘MA'. The inner rectangles on both covers are divided by double fillets into triangular or lozenge-shaped compartments, decorated on the upper cover with a small lozenge-shaped eagle stamp and a small lozenge-shaped lion rampant stamp; the compartments on the lower cover are undecorated. Rebacked.

Binding: Contemporary (possibly German) blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, with two metal catches, and raised parchment pastedowns. Triple fillets form a frame within which is a floral roll and with a small circular floral stamp at the intersection of the frame. The inner rectangle is divided by double fillets into lozenge-shaped and triangular compartments, with the small circular floral stamp at the corner of each compartment, and with a small lozenge-shaped fleur-de-lis stamp, a lozenge-shaped double-headed eagle with crown stamp and a circular stamp of a castle.

Wanting a1, gatherings b–i, k1 and Q8.

Raised parchment pastedowns, containing the upper and lower portions of one folio of the Digestum, accompanied by the Glossa ordinaria of Accursius, copied in a thirteenth-century hand; the folio contains Dig. 13.5.31 from the words ‘[here]ditas ad eum pertinet', and 13.6.1 to 13.6.5.14, breaking off at ‘ibi hoc reliquero'. There is also a sparse interlinear gloss providing synonyms and single-word explanations.

Occasional early marginal notes.
