a3r Augustinus [pseudo-]: Manuale. PL XL 951-68; the shorter version, chapters 1-24 only. In this version, part of the preface has become chapter 1, and what in other versions is chapter 1 is here chapter 2. Chapters 22 and 23 (23 and 24 in the incunable) are divided differently from PL, and chapter 24 (25 in the incunable) omits the final sentence: ‘Celum, terra et omnia quae in eis sunt, non cessant mihi dicere ut amem Dominum Deum meum.' Wilmart, ‘Le manuel de prières de S. Jean Gualbert', Revue Bénédictine, 48 (1936), 263-4, n. 4); (ii) extract from Dicta S. Augustini quot sunt virtutes psalmorum (PL CXXXI 142) [apparently attributed by PL to Remigius Autissiodorensis]; (iii) direction for reciting psalms, attributed to Hilary of Poitiers, with incipit: ‘Si quis vult Deum habere sibi propitium . . .', with incipits of Psalms.
