Manuale (shorter version).

Analysis of Content

a1r [Title-page.]

a2r [Table of contents.]

a2v Augustinus [pseudo-]: ‘Prohemium' to Manuale. PL XL 951.

a2v Augustinus [pseudo-]: Manuale. PL XL 951-68; the shorter version, chapters 1-24 only. In this version, part of the preface has become chapter 1, and what in other versions is chapter 1 is here chapter 2. Chapters 22 and 23 (23 and 24 in the incunable) are divided differently from PL, and chapter 24 (25 in the incunable) omits the final sentence: ‘Celum, terra et omnia quae in eis sunt, non cessant mihi dicere ut amem Dominum Deum meum.' For the composition of Manuale see Wilmart, Auteurs spirituels, 195-6.

b2r [Bernardus Claravallensis pseudo-]: De interiori domo. PL CLXXXIV 546-52; chapters 38-41 only. CIBN notes that this work is also attributed to pseudo-Augustinus, as De dulci admonitione animae.

b4r Augustinus [pseudo-]: ‘Inuocatio ad deum pro auxilio.’ Incipit: ‘[B]enedictus et misericors deus, qui reuocas errantes et sanas penitentes . . .’

b4v Augustinus [pseudo-]: Psalterium. PL XL 1135-8.

b6v [Augustinus pseudo-]: Septem psalmi ad laudem gloriosae virginis Mariae. Incipit: ‘[D]omina clementissima, ne in furore dei sinas me eternaliter condempnari . . .’

b8r Augustinus [pseudo-]: De virtute psalmorum. Incipit: ‘[S]i vis penitentiam pro peccatis tuis agere . . .’ see A‑581.
