Binding: Contemporary German (Kyriß workshop no. 88) blind-tooled pigskin, over wooden boards, with catches and clasps, and letter-stamping at the head of the upper cover. On both covers double fillets form an outer frame, that on the upper cover containing Kyriß pl. 179, no. 5, that on the lower Kyriß pl. 179, no. 3. On both covers double fillets form an inner frame, that on the upper cover containing with Kyriß pl. 179, no. 2, that on the lower undecorated. The inner rectangle on both covers contains a plait-work roll. Painted labels on spine, giving name of author and title in black on white, and shelf letter ‘B', also in black on white.

Size: 215 × 155 × 65 mm.

Size of leaf: 201 × 133 mm.

In a contemporary hand on R8r-v: ‘Deus ab homine queret illud quod habet scilicet cor . . .’

Provenance: Dinkelsbühl, Bavaria, Carmelites; inscriptions on A2r and A3r. Francis Douce (1757-1834); armorial book-plate. Bequeathed in 1834.
