[a1r] Baduarius, Sebastianus: Oratio ad Alexandrum VI in praestanda Venetorum obedientia. ‘Sebastiani Baduarii equitis, patritii et senatoris Veneti, illustrissime Venetorum Reipublicae oratoris ad Alexandrum VI pontificem max. in prestanda obedietia.’ Incipit: ‘[S]i aliquo unquam tempore priscorumue patrum aetate, sanctissime ac beatissime pater, laetari et exultare in pontificum creatione contigerit . . .’ [a2v] Explicit: ‘... Utque celitus lapsa beatitudinis tuae ad suppremum orthodoxe fidei apicem sublimatio foelix faustasque sit, Deum ipsum optimum, maximumque precamur.’ ‘Dixi. in publico consistorio, die xvii Decembris M.cccc.lxxxxii.’ [Dated 17 Dec. 1492].

Provenance: ‘Dpl' on [a1r], probably a duplicate from the Royal Library, Munich. Numbers ‘11' and ‘25' on first and last pages respectively. Date of acquisition unknown; to judge from the shelfmark it was perhaps acquired in the 1880s.
