Early marginal notes in faded ink.

Initials, some epigraphic, are supplied in red or blue; the seven-line initial ‘S' on [A1v] is decorated with faint purple mayflowers, pen-work infill and extensions into the margin. On [A1v –A2v] the text is surrounded by a frame ruled in red. Coat of arms supplied within a wreath, with green and red ties. Woodcuts coloured in red, yellow, and blue.

Provenance: Cardinal Georgius Costa (1406-1508); coat of arms on [A1v]: azure, a Catherine wheel or, surmounted by a red cardinal's hat with twelve tassels; see Alphonsus Ciaconius, Vitae et res gestae Pontificum Romanorum . . .
