Size of leaf: 404 × 273 mm.

Pastedowns: two sheets of printer's waste from an eighteenth-century Roman Catholic Andachtsbuch in German, comprising 72 pages in three sheets, pasted over sheets printed in French.

Running headings in an early hand.

On A2r an initial is supplied in blue with reserved white decoration and pen-flourishing in red; other initials and paragraph marks are supplied alternately in red and blue; red capital strokes.

Provenance: Joseph Niesert (1766-1841); on A1r an ownership inscription dated 1817; sale (1843), lot 1015. Purchased for £1; see Books Purchased (1843), 5.
