In gatherings [a]–[k] and occasionally thereafter, copious early marginal notes in faded red ink, in a note on the front pastedown erroneously attributed to Melanchthon; see also the introduction of the Kloß sale catalogue, p. xix. Running headings in brown ink are supplied by the same hand. Occasional numbering of gatherings.
On [a2r] an eight-line initial is supplied in red with reserved white decoration and blue mayflower infill, some pen-flourishing extending into the inner margin; other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue.
