Binding: Contemporary German (Bamberg, Carmelites, Kyriß workshop no. 5, Schwenke–Schunke–Rabenau 19-20) blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, two clasps lost; rebacked. On both covers triple fillets form a double frame; the inner rectangle is divided by triple fillets into lozenge-shaped compartments. In the compartments are two different stamps: a lozenge-shaped stamp with a stag and a tear-drop stamp with a foliate ornament(?); within the frames, the stag stamp and a round flower stamp; for the stamps see Weale–Taylor 135, 139 (pl. x nos 15, 16, 17), Kyriß pl. 9, nos 1, 3, 4) and Schwenke–Schunke 139, no. 11 (Bamberg, Bischöflicher Meister).

Size: 483 × 346 × 165 mm.

Size of leaf: 470 × 315 mm.

On [a2r] a fourteen-line initial is supplied in green with yellow highlighting on a red background, within a segmented frame in red and green; other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue; red capital strokes and underlining, occasional book numbers in red.

Provenance: Johannes Trebra (†1494); given by him to the Cathedral Chapter of St Peter in Regensburg, see also MBK IV,1, 94; on [a2r]: ‘Istud Rosarium Archidiaconi super decreto fuit per quondam bone memorie [ ] ac magne auctoritatis virum dominum Jo. Trebra, pontificij iuris doctorem eximium, huius Ratisponensis ecclesie Canonicum, in hanc Bibliothecam eiusdem Ratisponensis ecclesie Legatum et testatum tali modo et condicione, ut predicatorj in eadem ecclesia pro tempore exeunti, si isto indiguerit aut pro quotidiano vsu necessarius fuerit, accomodetur, et quod post ipsius predicatoris recessum siue obitum in hanc Bibliothecam [eciam] ut prefatur(?) ad aliorum predicatorum succedentium simili vsu et necessitate donec durauerit restituatur. Actum decimo kal. Augusti anno domini Mcccclxxxx quarto'; on [a2r] above, a pencil note: ‘Hoc est nota d. Laurentij Hochwart' (†1570, from 1530 preacher in Regensburg).
