Binding: Blind-tooled calf; double fillets form a frame; watermark in the endpapers, the letters ‘MIFRE' in a scroll under a shield with a crowned ‘M'; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers.

Size: Both vols: 290 × 210 × 50 mm.

Size of leaf: 286 × 193–200 mm.

Some pointing hands and ‘nota' marks.

Some initials are supplied in interlocked red and black, occasionally with pen-work infill in red and black ink. Other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red. Underlining in red. Capitals touched with yellow wash.

Provenance: Inscriptions on a2r and x1r, mainly unread under ultraviolet light: ‘Ex bibliotheca Parisiensi . . .' Former shelfmarks inside the upper covers, of vol. 1: ‘3 A 28'; and of vol. 2: ‘3 A 29'. Purchased from D. Speare for £10. 10. 0: see Library Bills (1814), no. 44, and Books Purchased (1814), 1.
