Binding: Eighteenth-century English calf, c.1790; bound for the Bodleian Library; single fillets form a border on both covers; on the spine six compartments defined by single gilt fillets; edges yellow; the gold stamp of the Library on both covers; marbled pastedowns.

Size of leaf: 245 × 164 mm.

Marginal notes, some in an early hand in red ink.

On a1r a fifteen-line initial ‘F' is supplied in reserved white, within a red pen-work border, decorated with stylized Maiblumen and with extensions into the guttering. Other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue.
