Title cut out and mounted.

Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled calf over wooden boards; two clasps lost; spine repaired. On both covers fillets form a double frame; the inner rectangle is divided by fillets into lozenge-shaped compartments. In the compartments and the frames are three different stamps: a round eagle, a small lozenge-shaped fleur-de-lis and a small rosette.

Size: 325 × 230 × 90 mm.

Size of leaf: 310 × 210 mm.

Principal initials are supplied in interlocked red and blue. In gatherings a–K, other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red; red capital strokes and underlining.

Provenance: Purchased, together with five other editions of the Bible, for £12. 3. 6; see Books Purchased (1841), 5.
