Gathering [a] is of Koberger's edition of 7 May 1485 (B‑319(3)).
Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled calf over wooden boards. Two clasps lost; rebacked, with gold-tooled spine, the spine gold-tooled, lettered ‘S. Biblia N. Lyrani 1492'; see Bib. Lat. 1485 c.3 and Bib. Lat. 1492 c.2,4, but now badly worn. On both covers quadruple fillets form a frame, in which is half a lozenge-shaped foliate stamp. Further quadruple fillets form an inner frame, in which is a repeated floral stamp. The inner rectangle is divided by triple fillets into triangular and lozenge-shaped compartments, in which is the lozenge-shaped floral stamp or half stamp.

Woodcuts coloured in red, yellow, blue, and green wash. Principal initials are supplied in red or blue with reserved white decoration, and with pen-work infill and extensions into the margins in red, blue, yellow, and green; other initials are supplied in red or blue. Capital strokes in red.
