Bound in two volumes (Gn–Ps; Prv–Apc).
Binding: Sixteenth-century German (Tegernsee, Kyriß workshop no. 31) blind-tooled leather over bevelled wooden boards, two bosses, four corner-pieces on each cover, and two clasps lost. On the upper cover fillets form four concentric frames; the inner rectangle is divided by rolls into vertical compartments. In the compartments several different ornamental and floral rolls, one of which shows a standing figure with erect arms. On the lower cover fillets form a frame; the inner rectangle is divided into three horizontal compartments, the upper and lower ones of which are divided by fillets into lozenge-shaped and triangular fields. In the fields, a large round stamp with the arms of Tegernsee, two round rosette stamps, a flower stamp, and a triangular foliate stamp. In the frame, a floral roll. For the stamps see Kyriß pl. 69, nos 4, 6, a.
Size: 320 × 220 × 75 and 310 × 220 × 80 mm.
Size of leaf: 300 × 195 mm.
On front endleaf of vol. 1 a few lines of a ‘Register vber diß puͤech' entered in a sixteenth-century South German hand.
On [a1r] and [b1r] initials are supplied in blue with highlighting in white on burnished gold grounds, the gilt with punch-dotting, within a segmented frame of red and green, and with gold dotting; in the lower margin, floral ornament in the same palette with gold dotting. Woodcuts painted in various colours and (on [b1r]) decorated with burnished gold. In gatherings [a], [b], and [ee], paragraph marks supplied in red; red capital strokes and underlining.
