Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled calf over wooden boards. On both covers triple fillets form a double frame; in the inner frame a repeated stamp of a foliate staff, and a rosette in the corner; in the inner rectangle a single stamp makes up a merrythought pattern, surrounding a repeated floral stamp; the title stamped and gilt on the upper cover; for another book printed by Otmar and with the title stamped in gold see H‑132(1); centre-pieces, four corner-pieces, two catches, and two leather clasps all lost; with tawed leather index tabs.

Size: 310 × 210 × 90 mm.

Size of leaf: 292 × 194 mm.

A few early notes and pointing hands.

Four-line initials and paragraph marks are supplied in alternate red or blue; red capital strokes, until x5r, and underlining of headings and running heads. Rubrication dated 1496 on [*]3v and Z7v.

Provenance: Joseph Franz Ecker von Käpfing und Lichteneck, Bishop of Freising (1696-1726); on the front pastedown an engraved armorial book-plate, Warnecke 558. Duplicate from the Royal Library, Munich: ‘Duplum' ‘no 902'. Acquired between 1847 and c.1892; not found in Catalogus (1843), with Appendix.
