Remarks: As assigned and dated by Sheppard; GW assigns to [Georg Wolff], but Sheppard notes that the type is 65 G*, and is not Wolff's; CIBN dates [c.1501-2] from the state of the devices of Petit and Roce.

Some initials are supplied in ink; running headings in ink throughout.

Provenance: Edmund Waterton (1830-1887); on the front endleaf a deleted note, followed by inscription: ‘Edmd. Waterton. Walton Hall. 1854'. Thomas Ryburn Buchanan (1846-1911). Presented by Mrs Buchanan in 1941.
