Size of leaf: 172 × 121 mm.

Occasional marginal annotations. On [v10r], a text, the title cropped, with incipit ‘[ ]riso. Non potest ridere pro celestia predicandi qui gloria terrena(?) querit . . .' and a quotation from Bede(?), ‘Christus enim per passionem suam mortem tanquam per portam angustam intravit', in a sixteenth/seventeenth-century hand. On [5 b10r-v], in the same hand, ‘De penitentia distinctio tertia in decre[to]', with incipit ‘Inanis est penitentia quam sequens culpa . . .', Gratianus, Decretum, II, causa 33, Quaestio tertia, distinctio tertia, c. 12; the text on the verso, which shows through the recto, is now covered by the modern backing sheet.

On [4 a1r] a seven-line initial is supplied in interlocked red and blue, with red pen-work infill. Other initials are supplied in red, blue or interlocked red and blue. Paragraph marks and rubric titles are supplied in red. Underlining and capital strokes in red. Manuscript foliation and some running titles in black ink.
