Binding: Sixteenth-century French gold-tooled red morocco; arabesque corner- and centre-pieces; endpapers watermarked with crowned fleur-de-lis and inscription: ‘savois' (cosavois?) and two entwined columns standing on a third column; cf. Briquet 7256 with dates from 1574 to 1580; and Briquet 4432-49.

Size: 335 × 230 × 65 mm.

Size of leaf: 328 × 212 mm.

A few early marginal notes in a humanist hand.

Text surrounded by brown rules in both items.

Provenance: Pietro-Antonio Bolongaro-Crevenna (1735-1792); sale (1789), part IV, lot 6426; in annotated catalogue marked down to Thomas Payne for Fl. 20. Both items purchased through Payne for £1. 15. 0; see Books Purchased (1790), 10.
