Binding: Seventeenth-century calf, stamped in gilt with the badge of Henry Percy, 9th Earl of Northumberland. Two leather straps lost. Formerly chained: staple-marks of a hasp at the head and tail of the upper cover.

Provenance: Possibly Jérôme de Monteux (fl. 1523); on a1r of item 2, the inscription: ‘Ad Hierony[mum] Montuu[m] pertinet'. Acquired in 1603 with money given by Henry Percy, 9th Earl of Northumberland (1564-1632); see Benefactors' Register I 55; not found in James, Catalogus (1605); but see Catalogus (1620), 96.
