Binding: Eighteenth-century French(?) gold-tooled red morocco; edges gilt; marbled pastedowns; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers.

Size: 298 × 210 × 35 mm.

Size of leaf: 290 × 189 mm.

Early marginal notes washed out; those still legible mainly excerpting names of places and peoples.

Provenance: Louis César de la Baume le Blanc, duc de La Vallière (1708-1780); sale (1783) pt 1, lot 4906; ‘V. 4906' on last endleaf. Pietro-Antonio Bolongaro-Crevenna (1735-1792); sale (1789), lot 6173; in the annotated catalogue marked down to Payne for Fl. 155.
