Occasional early marginal notes, a few in the red ink of the rubricator; notes, probably in two different hands, in the index, mainly identifying place-names with modern German equivalents.

In gatherings a, b, and g–i, paragraph marks are supplied in red; red capital strokes and underlining.

Provenance: Benedictus de Essendorff (fifteenth/sixteenth century); on a1r a partly erased inscription below a painted shield and crest on a green ground within a black and red frame: per saltire gules and argent; John Woodward and George Burnett, A Treatise on Heraldry, new edn (Edinburgh, 1896) I 82.
