The blank leaf [†1] is bound after gathering A.
Binding: Sixteenth-century German blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, two clasps, one wanting. On both covers fillets form concentric frames within each of which is a foliate roll. The inner rectangle on each cover is decorated with a central floral ornament, with small fleurons at each corner. Remains of leather index tabs.
Size: 230 × 168 × 94 mm.
Size of leaf: 218 × 153 mm.
Occasional marginal notes, ‘nota' marks, and underlining in black ink in the text.
Epigraphic initials are supplied in red or blue. Paragraph marks are supplied in red. Capital strokes and underlining in red. Pagination in early black ink in upper margin, now largely cropped.
Provenance: Regensburg, Bavaria, Benedictines, S. Emmeramus; inscription on a1r: ‘Monasterii S. Emmerami Ratisbonæ'. Francis Douce (1757-1834); armorial book-plate. Bequeathed in 1834.
