Binding: Plain sheep over wooden boards, two clasps, central boss and four corner-pieces on each cover lost; parchment strip with title ‘Etica Catonis' in an early hand attached to back pastedown. On the spine a later title-label, torn, and a shelfmark: ‘Aii 182'. The gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers.
