London, Royal Society: see Catalogue of the Library of the Royal Society (London, 1825), 126; stamp on a1r: ‘Soc. Reg. Lond. ex dono Henr. Howard Norfol[cie]nsis'; not found in R. Farquharson Sharp, Catalogue of a Collection of Early Printed Books in the Library of the Royal Society (London, 1910); de Ricci notes that in 1873 the Royal Society sold books to Quaritch; this disposal might account for why this book is not in the 1910 catalogue, nor in the Sotheby's sale catalogue of 4 May 1925. Purchased in Sept. 1961 from Quaritch catalogue 820, Manuscripts, Early Continental Books, English History and Literature, no. 42.
