Provenance: Inscription of 1581, partly unread due to water damage, on a1v: ‘Questo libre mi fo donato a mi giouani di pompe [ ] ant° di [ ] pero dossi Bologne[se] [ ] 6 di giune 1581 [et] mi lo dono chor[ ] et aichevole et in[ ]'. Petrus dei Martulis(?) and friends; inscription on a1r: ‘Petrii dei Martulis(?) et amicorum'. Purchased by Heber for £0. 15. 6, according to the price annotated in red ink in Heber's sale catalogue. Richard Heber (1773-1833); see Catalogue, 2 (1834), lot 1173, sold for £0. 2. 0. London, British Museum; acquired in 1857: date stamp on o8v; stamp and duplicate stamp on a1v. Acquired by the Bodleian in 1914: stamp dated ‘19 Oct. 1914'.
