a3v Cronike van Brabant [Dutch. Also known as Die alder excellenste cronyke van Brabant.] Incipit: ‘Hier beghint den yersten boeck . . . [I]nt boeck vanden proprieteyten der dinghen . . .’ Traditionally this has regarded as a translation of the Catalogus et cronica principum et comitum Flandriae; see August Potthast, Bibliotheca historica medii aevi (Berlin, 1896), I 207, 306; however, it is actually a Brabantine chronicle (ex informatione Jaap Tigelaar).

Remarks: The date is traditionally taken to be 1497, as stated in the colophon; however, in Brabant the year began at Easter until 1576 (ex informatione Jaap Tigelaar).

Binding: Eighteenth-century mottled calf; marbled pastedowns; the spine gold-tooled; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers.
