Binding: English gold-tooled calf, c.1700, Cambridge style; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers.

Size of leaf: 298 × 198 mm.

Marginal notes in a number of different fifteenth- and sixteenth-century(?) hands, mainly extracting key words and, in a few cases, providing brief summaries of short passages. Various scribbles and two drawings of heads in black ink on a1r. Running headlines and foliation supplied in black ink, apparently in the hand of Gaspare de Sardis. On B2r, in the hand of Gaspare de Sardis: ‘Oratio pro Poscio comodæ absque principio hic deficit Item Pro Marco Fonteio absque principio'. Text enclosed within eighteenth-century(?) red rules (except s4v –s5r).

Provenance: Bricius of Ferrara and Piolo (fifteenth/sixteenth century); inscription on a1r: ‘Iste liber est mei fratris Bricii de Feraria necnon Piolensis ordinis et obseruantie Carmelitarum'. Paulus Alfonsus of Foligno (fifteenth/sixteenth century); inscription on a1r: ‘Iste orationes mei sunt Pauli Alfonsi Fulginatis'. Ludovicus of Foligno (fifteenth/sixteenth century); inscription on a1r: ‘Iste orationes mei sunt Ludouici Fulginatis clerici Ferrariensis'. Gaspare de Sardis (†1559); inscription on a1r: ‘Mei Guasparis de Sardis ß 8 [ ] ligatus'. Alexander Cunningham, perhaps to be identified with Alexander Cunningham (1655?–1730); signature on a1r. James St Amand (1687-1754); manuscript catalogue, fol. 11 no. 192. Bequeathed in 1754.
