Kalthoeber, c.1795, the spine decorated with an octagonal flower-petal tool; marbled pastedowns, gilt-edged leaves; both covers stamped with the arms of the 2nd Earl Spencer, impaling Bingham, quartered with Turberville; motto: ‘Dieu defend le droit'; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers.
