At the beginning of each work, badly damaged initials are supplied in gold, on a blue ground within a black ink border, sometimes with red pen-work decoration in the area defined by the letter, and with extensions into the inner margin in black and gold; other initials are supplied in red, with blue pen-work decoration in the area defined by the letter, and extensions. Paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue. Headlines and marginal rubrics supplied in red. Capitals touched with yellow wash. Manuscript catchwords are supplied in black ink in an early hand.
