Binding: Sixteenth-century German blind-tooled pigskin over bevelled wooden boards; two clasps lost. On both covers fillets form a triple frame. Within the outer frame, a roll depicting Justitia, Lucretia, ‘Cisero', and Judith; within the inner frame a small ornamental roll. The inner rectangle on the upper cover is a panel-stamp depicting Christ as a Child blessing and with a cross surrounded by a border with grotesques incorporating Fides holding a cross, Constantia with an anchor, and two putti; in the central compartment on the lower cover a panel-stamp depicting Caritas holding a lamb surrounded by the same border. Index tabs.

On the front pastedown ‘Sequuntur versiculi suffragiorum per sacerdotem ebdomadarium in vesperis et laudibus dicendi. In aduentu domini. Rorate cœli . . .' noted in red and black ink in an eighteenth-century(?) hand. A few manuscript astronomical notes in the Calendar in two early hands; prayers on [2 c8r/v] in two fifteenth-century hands: [1] ‘Omnipotens sempiterne deus mestorum consolatio laborantium fortitudo . . .' [2] ‘In festo reliquiarum. Oratio. Concede quesumus omnipotens deus vt sancta dei genitrix maria . . .' A few eighteenth-century marginal notes; manuscript introits in an eighteenth-century hand on [2 c7v]; a prayer for peace in an eighteenth-century hand on [2 c8v].
On [b1r] a six-line initial is supplied in red with pen-flourishing in black. Other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue; red capital strokes.
