Binding: English nineteenth-century half calf, the spine stamped with the monogram and coronet of the Duke of Sussex.

Size: 478 × 340 × 67 mm.

Size of leaf: 467 × 310 mm.

On a2r an 11-line initial is supplied in interlocked red and blue with floral infill and extensions in blue, green, and red. Other initials are supplied in red with reserved white decoration; paragraph marks supplied in red; red capital strokes and underlining.

Provenance: Roermond an der Maas, Limburg, Carthusians; on a2r an inscription: ‘Liber Carthusiensium in Ruremunda'. Augustus Frederick (1773-1843), Duke of Sussex; book-plate; sale, pt 1, lot 3081. Purchased for £2. 11. 0; see Books Purchased (1844), 12.
