Binding: Eighteenth-century green morocco; the spine gold-tooled with red title- and imprint-panels; marbled pastedowns; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers; for similar bindings see also C‑106(1) and C‑287(1), both from the MacCarthy Reagh collection.
Size: 285 × 210 × 33 mm.
Size of leaf: 278 × 195 mm.
In gatherings [a]–[e] initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red; red capital strokes and underlining.

Binding: Nineteenth-century half tan morocco with marbled paper boards, the spine gold-tooled, bound for Bywater.

A few marginal notes.
On [a1v] a paragraph mark with foliate extensions is supplied in red. On [a2r] a four-line ‘C' supplied in blue with pen-flourishing in red; reserved white foliate decoration within the area defined by the letter; heading in red.
Provenance: On [a1r] an inscription: ‘Theodericj de Plemgen', probably the humanist Dietrich von Plieningen or Pleningen (†1520). Biburg, Bavaria, Jesuits; on [a1r] an inscription: ‘Collegij Beybergæ'. Duplicate from the Royal Library, Munich; erased inscriptions: ‘Duplum' and no. ‘3334' on [a1r]. Ingram Bywater (1840-1914); Elenchus, no. 962. Bequeathed in 1914.
