Binding: Eighteenth-century mottled calf; the spine gold-tooled; Buntpapier pastedowns.

Size: 280 × 205 × 30 mm.

Size of leaf: 271 × 192 mm.

Initials are supplied in red or blue with pen-work decoration in brownish pink; paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue.

Provenance: Petronius de Lapigna (fifteenth century?); on n8r an inscription: ‘Mei petronij de lapigna'. Bologna, Benedictines, S. Proculus; on n8r an erased inscription: ‘Iste lib[er] [est] [congregationis Cassinensis alias] sancte Justine ordinis sancti benedicti deputatus monast[erio] sancti proculi de bononia Sig[natus] numero 454'. George Frederick Nott (1767-1841); ‘Geo. Fred. Nott. Roma Jan. 1. 1827'; a note from Payne and Foss suggests that Nott had bought the book from De Romanis, a bookseller.
