Binding: Early eighteenth-century blind-tooled mottled calf, ‘Cambridge style', bound for the Bodleian Library. Formerly chained: staple-marks of a hasp at the head of the upper cover.

Early marginal notes, some in red ink, and underlining in the text, sometimes in red ink.

Provenance: Richard Layton (1500?–1544); an inscription on a1r: ‘Liber Ricardi Layton'. Acquired by 1674; see Hyde, Catalogus (1674), II 134 (misprinted as 143).
