Bound in a guard-book containing fragments, many from editions of Donatus.

Parchment strip, containing lines 17-23 of [a6.9]: for facsimile see Schwenke, Donat, pl. IV, and 20, no. 9. A contiguous strip of the same two leaves from the same copy is preserved in the Staatsbibliothek, Bamberg.

Binding: The collection of fragments is bound in nineteenth-century calf for the Bodleian Library.

Size of fragment: 270 × 55 mm.

Capital strokes in red.

Provenance: Georg Franz Burkhard Kloß (1787-1854); sale (1835), part of lot 1289. Samuel Butler (1774-1839); sale, pt III, lot 137 (part of); note on pastedown in a nineteenth-century hand: ‘Bought at the sale of the Library of Dr. Samuel Butler, Bishop of Lichfield, part III, sold in 1841, lots 135, 51, and 136-46. Obtained at the sale of Dr. Kloß in 1835'. Purchased with other fragments of Donatus for £26. 5. 0; see Books Purchased (1841), 13.
