Binding: Contemporary pigskin over wooden boards; five bosses on each cover and two clasps lost. On each cover triple fillets form concentric intersecting frames; the inner rectangle is divided by further sets of triple fillets into triangular compartments. Contemporary manuscript label on the upper cover; manuscript labels on spine, including shelfmark ‘A.33'.

Size: 400 × 295 × 98 mm.

Size of leaf: 385 × 275 mm.

On [a2r] an eight-line initial ‘S' is supplied in blue with red decoration, dots, and extension into the margin. Other initials, some with extensions into the margins, and paragraph marks are supplied in red.

Provenance: Andechs, Bavaria, Benedictines, S. Nicolaus; inscription in a fifteenth/sixteenth-century hand on [a2r]: ‘Iste liber attinet venerabili cenobio Sancti Nicolai in Anndezz ordinis Sancti Benedicti'; armorial book-plate, with the arms of the monastery and of Michael Einslin, abbot 1610-40; see Warnecke no. 43. Acquired between 1835 and 1847; see Catalogus (1843), Appendix 285; the shelfmark may indicate an acquisition date of c.1840.
