Binding: Contemporary German (Eichstätt, Dominicans, Kyriß workshop no. 9) blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, five bosses on each cover lost; two clasps lost; rebacked. Formerly chained: staple-marks of a hasp at the head of the lower cover. Nailed-on book-label at the head of the upper cover lost. On the upper cover fillets form a triple frame; along the second frame a headed-outline tool; at the points of intersection, a small flower stamp; within the third frame, a repeated rectangular foliate ornament stamp; the inner rectangle is subdivided by a cross formed by the rectangular foliate ornament stamp and a rectangular foliate staff stamp. On the lower cover fillets form a frame; the inner rectangle is divided by fillets into lozenge-shaped and triangular compartments. In the compartments a lozenge-shaped stamp with three flowers; at the points of intersection, a small rosette. For the stamps see Kyriß pl. 17, nos 1-2, 4-7. Red paper index tabs.

On [a2r] an initial is supplied in blue with pen-work decoration in red; other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red; red capital strokes and underlining.
Provenance: Old shelfmark ‘G VIII 17' on spine. Eichstätt, Bavaria, Dominicans; on [a2r] book-plate lettered ‘Conv. Eystad. Fratrum Praed. 1742'; see Warnecke no. 438. Duplicate from the Royal Library, Munich; ‘Duplum' on [a1r]. Acquired between 1847 and c.1892, possibly in 1850; not in Catalogus (1843) with Appendix.
