A2r Pius II, Pont. Max. [pseudo-; Eyb, Albertus de]: Praecepta artis rhetoricae. Dedicated to [Johann] von Baden, Archbishop of Trier. Incipit: ‘[B]ene esset, vir illustris . . .’ Although transmitted under the name of Pius II and later included in his Opera omnia (Basel, 1571), 991-1034, this is in fact by Albertus de Eyb and part of his Margarita poetica; see VL I 180-6, at 182-3 no. 5.

F6r [Verse colophon.] Incipit: ‘Siluius Aeneas Hetruscae gloria gentis'; 2 elegiac distichs.

Presented by him on 17 July 1944, through the Friends of the Bodleian; book-plate on front pastedown; undated letter (post July 1944) from J. V. Scholderer (BM, then based, during World War II, at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth) to H. R. Creswick, Deputy Bodley's Librarian.
