Binding: Nineteenth-century calf, bound for the Bodleian Library with an earlier gold-tooled spine reused; the gold stamp of the Library on both covers. Red leather index tabs in both items.

Size: 415 × 286 × 31 mm.

Size of leaf: 407 × 275 mm.

Marginal annotations, extracting key words, and pointing hands, in two different hands, both early; one occurring in both items. Text contained within rules in item 1 only.

On a–c6, m2v, and m3r four-line initials, some with pen-work decoration, and capital strokes are supplied in red.

Provenance: Capuchins of Bar[ ]; in the upper margin of a2r: ‘Loci Capucinorum Bar[ ]'; a similar inscription has been erased on a1r. Johannes Theobaldus Heisch; on a1r: ‘Sum Joannis Theobaldi Heisch'. Anonymous sale (London: R. H. Evans, 11 Mar. 1825), lot 217. Purchased for £1. 11. 6 ; see Books Purchased (1825), 12.
