On a3r in a fifteenth/sixteenth-century hand, ‘Dixerat assensu vario fremuere potentes' (l.16 of printed text on that page). Other early annotations and some underlining in the text in black ink. On a1r a monkey is crudely drawn in black ink.

On a2r a three-line initial ‘C' is supplied in gold edged in red, and, in the area defined by the letter, a reserved white flower-petal on a red ground. Text enclosed within single red rules. Foliation in black ink: i–ix.

Provenance: John Morisy (fl. 1854); inscription on a1r: ‘John Morisy, Military Academy, 39, Gt. Brunswick St., July 26 1854'. Acquired between 1847 and c.1892; not in Catalogus (1843) with Appendix.
