Binding: Sixteenth-century(?) parchment, with gilt-edged leaves.

Size of leaf: 102 × 74 mm.

On c1r, m8v, r7r, s3r renaissance-style borders are supplied in blue, black, or red, decorated in gold or silver with architectural designs, cameos, and grotesques; on k3r a border is supplied in red with precious stones, pearls, and cameos; see Pächt and Alexander II, 112 pr. 108 and pl. lxxxviii. The seven small historiated woodcuts are coloured in red, blue, green, gold, and other colours. Three- to four-line woodcut initials coloured in gold on a red or blue ground. Other initials are supplied in gold on a blue or red (purple) or, occasionally, green ground.

Provenance: Giovanni Francesco Busati (sixteenth century); inscriptions on rear endleaves in a sixteenth-century hand: ‘Io. Francesco Busato Ca[ ] Pezzan di Melma' [Pezzano and Melma, then Silea, are both in the province of Treviso], ‘Iste liber meus est si quid a vobis placet, Io. Franco’, ‘Zuane Busato'. Purchased in 1913.
