On a1v: ‘De Bellissen' in a seventeenth-century(?) hand. On rear pastedown, a list of woodcuts in Douce's hand.

Two- to four-line initials are supplied in gold on a red, blue, or brown ground, with gold pen-work decoration; other initials, paragraph marks, and rope-like line fillers are supplied in red or blue. Capitals touched with yellow wash. Ruling in red ink.

Provenance: Francis Douce (1757-1834); armorial book-plate. Bequeathed in 1834.
