Binding: Sixteenth-century German blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, with the remains of two metal clasps. On both covers triple fillets form concentric frames, within the outer one of which is a cresting roll; within the middle frame is a roll with biblical figures; within the inner frame is a small fleuron and a roll containing heads and ornamental decoration; further triple fillets form the inner rectangle which is decorated with a repeated ornametal roll.
Size: 319 × 212 × 60 mm.
Size of leaf: 310 × 199 mm.
Some early interlinear annotations, marginal notes, including extraction of key words, and underlining in the text in black ink.
Provenance: Sebastianus Erliche (fl. 1576); inscriptions on [*4r]: ‘Annus 1576 Sebastia[nus] Erliche [ ]'; and on F5r: ‘Et anno domini 1576 ad fidem saluatoris Sebastianus Erliche pa[ ] plebanus in Eschen[ ](?)'.
