Binding: Contemporary blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, with remains of metal clasp and catch. Triple fillets form a double frame. Within the outer frame, circular lamb-and-flag and rosette stamps. Within the inner frame, stamps of a pomegranate and of a scroll, interspersed with small circular fleur-de-lis stamps. Leather index tabs. Strips of parchment used in the binding are still visible. Rebacked.

Size: 151 × 100 × 38 mm.

Size of leaf: 141 × 92 mm.

Manuscript note in the calendar, 17 May: ‘Illo die Anno 1525 interfuit dominus Lo[ ] . . . propr opp. Io. Zabre[ ]'. Manuscript note on the rear endleaf in a sixteenth/seventeenth-century hand: ‘Hymnus. Vita sanctorum decus angelorum, vita sanctorum pariter piorum, Christe qui mortis moriens ministrum exuperasti. Du[ ] tuo.’

Some interlocked red and blue initials. Other initials are supplied in red or blue; a few paragraph marks are supplied in blue; capital strokes in red. Some of the woodcuts have been coloured in red.
